Card meanings cover all 78 cards upright and reversed, in love, work and money, as advice and as an event marker. The card of the day is one card from the 22 Major Arcana, drawn once a day, with the working side and the slipping side of it named.
How to read tarot without learning 78 cards first
Start with the position, not the picture. In a three-card layout the first card answers “how did this start” and the third answers “where is it going”, and a card you barely know still says something useful when the question is that specific.
Then read the suits, which carry half the meaning on their own. Wands are action and pace, Cups are feelings and people, Swords are thoughts, words and conflict, Pentacles are money, work and the body. A spread made mostly of Swords is a spread about a conversation that has not happened.
Reversed cards can wait. Most readers work upright only for the first year, and a reversed card usually means the same theme with interference, a delay or a weakening, rather than its opposite.
Tarot and the Destiny Matrix
The 22 Major Arcana show up twice on this site. In a spread they describe a situation: what is happening and where it leads. In the Destiny Matrix the same 22 images are numbers calculated from your date of birth, and they describe character, purpose and the lessons you keep meeting. Fifteen positions in one chart, fixed for life, with no shuffling involved.
People often meet the arcana through tarot and then find their own numbers more interesting. Yes. Card meanings and the card of the day have no limits; AI readings for spreads are capped at three per visitor per day. No account and no payment details at any point.
Which deck do you use?
The Rider-Waite deck, illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith in 1909 and long in the public domain. It is the deck most books are written for, so anything you learn here transfers. One numbering note: we keep Justice at 8 and Strength at 11, as the Destiny Matrix does, while Waite swapped the two.
Can I read tarot for myself?
Yes, and most readers do. The two rules that keep self-reading honest: ask one question at a time, and do not re-draw the same question on the same day because you disliked the answer.
Do the cards predict the future?
They describe where a situation leads at the current state of things and with your current decisions. Change the decision and the picture changes, which is why every reading here ends with steps rather than with a prophecy.
